The salary of MPs
Officially, a Member of Parliament does not receive a salary, but compensation. In 2023, an ‘ordinary’ Member of Parliament will receive compensation of EUR 8,889.89 gross per month. Members of the House of Representatives also receive 8 percent holiday allowance and an end-of-year bonus of 8.3 percent in accordance with the scheme for civil servants. All in all, this amounts to a generous amount of 124,000 euros on an annual basis. So not nothing.
The income of the President of the House of Representatives
The chairman receives a slightly higher remuneration. Like members of the House of Representatives, the chairman receives compensation, holiday pay and an end-of-year bonus. But on top of that, the chairman also receives an allowance equal to 34 percent of the compensation on an annual basis. This means that the chairman receives an annual sum totaling 160,000 euros. The first vice-chairman, second vice-chairman and other vice-chairmen also receive an allowance. Below in the diagram you can see exactly how many percent:

Other Vice Presidents 1.0
Other allowances of members of the House of Representatives
As a member of the House of Representatives, you can choose between travel allowances for commuting. In addition, you will also receive an annual allowance for travel expenses outside of commuting. This fee is €4900 per year. Members of the House of Representatives also receive allowances for accommodation costs, which depend on the distance between their place of residence and the House of Representatives.
Members of the House of Representatives also receive a professional allowance of € 2,975.14 gross annually. The amount of this allowance is set each year by the Minister of the Interior.
