Dating: it’s not that easy. Are you very single and do you want to get to know someone better at a good spot? Or have you been in a relationship for a while and want to get out of that couch hanging rut? Then there is only one thing to do, which is to discover new places. Let’s go.

Date spots in Amsterdam
Amsterdam has many fantastic restaurants for lunch, dinner, breakfast, drinks or simply a coffee to go to get. Very nice, but sometimes also a bit overwhelming. Because where do you take that oh so special person? And how can you be sure that the atmosphere feels right? There’s nothing like a list that’s easy to choose from, so we’ve listed our four favorites of the moment for you. This way you know exactly where your next date will take place.
1. BAUT
There is a good chance that the name BAUT is familiar to you. That may very well be true, since the restaurant opened its doors for the first time in 2012 in the pop-up restaurant on Wibautstraat. After about 7 pop-up locations in 8 years, it’s time for the original place again. BAUT is back on the Wibautstraat and is a place where you can enjoy your date in a casual atmosphere. In this restaurant in East – with a large terrace on the border of Amsterdam East, Center and De Pijp – you will find plenty of options for lunch, dinner or drinks.
Our tip: plan your date around lunchtime. BAUT has quite a few dishes on the lunch menu that you should really try. From steak tartare with kimchi to a delicious bisque royal, you want to taste everything. BAUT focuses on local products and producers, so in addition to an eye-catching interior and delicious food, that has also been thought of. Dating!
Address: Wibaustraat 25, Amsterdam.
2. Cafe Jansen
There is a good chance that you have never taken a look at the Bijlmerbajes. Logical, because (hopefully) you had no business here at all. However, prison guards and prisoners have not been to be found here for some time now, because Café Jansen Bajeskwartier recently opened its doors here. A vibrant and unique restaurant in – you wouldn’t expect it – the former Bijlmer prison. And when we talk about a unique date, we are of course talking about a dinner, lunch or drink in this restaurant. Do you want to end your date extra exciting? Then you can even spend the night in hotel Jansen Amsterdam Bajeskwartier.
In this unique restaurant and hotel you can not only enjoy the impressive interior, there is also an extensive (and delicious) menu for you to enjoy. No water and bread, but an à la carte breakfast with a focus on classics, a unique lunch and a dinner with a menu that changes continuously, because the food is cooked with the seasons. You definitely don’t have to get thirsty, because enough attention has also been paid to the wine and cocktail menu.

3.W Amsterdam
A date that you say to, you will of course experience it on a rooftop. And we are not talking about just any rooftop, but a rooftop with a swimming pool (duh). On the roof of W Amsterdam you will find a wonderful rooftop with an amazing view over the city, namely the WET Deck in the W Amsterdam. With exclusive cocktails, a photogenic pool and a stylish atmosphere you get here instantly New York vibes.
Extra fun: you can enjoy a three-hour session on the roof of W Amsterdam this summer with a welcome drink and a DJ who will play a wonderful set live. How do you do this? Book a session, take the lift to the 6th floor of the ‘Exchange’ W Amsterdam building and choose an ice-cold drink from the cocktail menu. Enjoy the sunset or book a late night session so you can go dancing with your date. What else do you want?
Address: Spuistraat 175, Amsterdam
4. NOMADS
Are you and your date real foodies? Then a culinary trip is always a good idea. Singapore is a paradise for lovers of good food, so for this reason restaurant NOMADS has set up a special project with Singapore Tourism Board and Singapore Airlines. The team of world restaurant NOMADS flew to Southeast Asia to learn everything about the food culture. After a lot of wandering around local markets, cooking with locals and learning secret recipes, something very special has come out. You can now enjoy the most special dishes from Singapore with a NOMADS twist in Amsterdam until the end of September.
What you and your date can expect? From a dish inspired by the famous Chilli Crab to an interpretation of the popular soup dish Bak Kut Teh. In short: you can imagine yourself in Singapore’s culinary heaven here – and with a NOMADS twist. Not entirely unimportant, the drinks have also been thought of. From the iconic Tiger Beer to a Kaya Toast Cocktail. Really worth a try!
