Summer University Psychoanalysis July 3 to 7, 2023

An initiative of Belgian and Dutch psychoanalysts. The aim is to introduce students of medicine and psychology to psychoanalysis.

The Summer University will take place for the 10th time this year, in Amsterdam, in one of the UvA buildings.

The Summer University is invariably well attended and highly appreciated by the participating students (and other interested parties). A reduced rate applies to students.

Since 2014, a Summer University Psychoanalysis has been jointly organized by the Dutch and Flemish psychoanalytical associations to make the supporting and vital power of psychoanalysis accessible to a wide audience.

We offer students, psychologists, psychotherapists, psychiatrists, educators and other interested parties an intensive immersion in the theory and practice of psychoanalysis for five days. Every first week of July at the UvA in Amsterdam. There are lectures by psychoanalysts, workshops, clinical seminars, social and cultural activities where we always look for the connection between psychoanalysis, culture and society and the participants.

Part 1 (Mon and Tue) was a bit more introductory, part 2 (Wed, Thurs, Fri) more in-depth, this difference has been abandoned in recent years. Prior knowledge is not required, participation is possible for the entire week or for part 1 or 2. Throughout the year, newsletters, columns and news items are published on the website and the Facebook page.
