OpenAI launches ChatGPT app for iOS

ChatGPT is now available as an app for iPhones and can also be controlled via voice input.

Maker OpenAI significantly expands the reach of its earth-shattering service with the release of the iOS app. Users no longer have to go to the site via a web browser, but only have to tap an app on the device they already use for hours a day.

In addition, the interface becomes more intuitive in terms of operation, because you can now also talk to ChatGPT.

The app is already in Apple’s App Store. An Android version will follow soon.

The app will be for millions of people what they never dreamed of their favorite search engine. ChatGPT provides reasoned answers, well-founded advice and shows itself as an informed discussion partner.

OpenAI is also implementing an update behind the scenes that makes hallucinations, ‘hypothetical answers’ or: errors, less common. At least, that’s the case for ChatGPT Plus subscribers. ChatGPT Plus is rolling out the possibility to link its service with plug-ins. Those are 86 plugins at this time.

Companies that have already built plug-ins for ChatGPT include: Expedia, FiscalNote, Instacart, Kayak, Klarna, Milo, OpenTable, Shopify, Slack, Speak, Wolfram, Zapier and dozens of other specialized online services.

In concrete terms, this means that the paid version of ChatGPT knows more about the world. His knowledge does not stop in September 2021, but is as fresh as what the web offers.
