Netflix will reveal when The Crown’s sixth season will begin

We eagerly await the sixth season of The Crown. Unfortunately, this is also the last season of the successful series, but that should not spoil the fun. Netflix has now announced when we can expect the very last season.

Season 6

Hit series The Crown is about to come to an end, but not before we get to enjoy season six. In the popular series we follow the lives of the British Royals. In the fifth season we were left with the tragic death of the beloved Princess Diana and in the sixth – and final – season we see how the family picks up their lives again. Just like with the other seasons, there is another period in between and we get a glimpse into Prince William’s student life.

Student time

For example, Prince William starts at the University of St Andrew’s where he meets Kate Middleton from Berkshire. Although he was determined to live as normal a life as possible in his college days, the romance with Kate a spanner in the works. Netflix recently shared the first images of the sixth season, in which we can see, among other things, what young William and Kate look like.

The new season features some of the familiar cast, including Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth and Dominic West as Charles. We also see a few new faces such as Ed McVey, who plays the role of Prince William. This is also the debut of Ed, who graduated from the Drama Center London in 2021. The second newcomer is Meg Bellamy, who was cast as Kate Middleton after submitting an audition following a casting call on social media.

Release date

We still have to wait a little longer before the last season of The Crown appears on the streaming service. According to Bela Bajaria, Netflix’s chief content officer, that will be next fall. The exact date is not yet known, but we can already start the countdown. And in the meantime, we’ll just watch the first five seasons again!
