KNMI warns for strong thunderstorms

The KNMI warns for strong thunderstorms for Sunday evening. A ‘code yellow’ applies to the province of Groningen. That reports Otv.

The warning for Groningen applies from 8 p.m. on Sunday evening. “From Sunday evening there is a chance of strong thunderstorms in the east and south-east of the country,” says the KNMI. “The showers can develop on Sunday evening and in the night leading up to Monday. During the showers there is a chance of hail, gusts of wind and a lot of rain can fall in a short time, resulting in local flooding. The showers are moving north. Traffic and outdoor activities may be affected.”

In addition to Groningen, the warning also applies to Friesland, Drenthe, Overijssel, Gelderland, North Brabant and Limburg. Code yellow applies until 07:00 on Monday morning.
