Gigabyte QBi-8145A review: motherboard with many connectivity options

The QBi-8145A motherboard is an embedded IPC version and measures only 10.5 by 11.0 cm. This motherboard offers many options in a small space. It includes two HDMI connections, two gigabit network ports, two slots for DDR4-SO-DIMMs, a SATA 6G port and the unavoidable RS-232/422/485 COM port often used in embedded systems. A 19-36V DC-IN external power supply can power the motherboard, but an ATX-IN socket is also available.

The motherboards in the QBi series have an FCBGA1528 CPU socket. The entry-level model, the 8145A, is equipped with an Intel Core i3-8145UE dual core 14nm processor from the Whiskey Lake series, running at 2.20 GHz with a TDP of 15 watts. In addition to this model, there are also the QBi-8265A with a Core i5-8265U and the QBi-8565A with a Core i7-8565U processor.
