English analyst firmly convinced: “They’re going to do that”

Manchester City has wind in its sails. Yesterday it became champion without playing, after a demonstration against Real Madrid it is in the final of the Champions League and the English cup final is still to come. Analyst Jamie Carragher sees it very rosy.

“They’re going for the ‘treble’. I think they’re going to pull that off,” the Sky Sports analyst and former Liverpool player is convinced. “They are the big favorites in both finals. Guardiola has set the bar so high. With a different manager they would never have reached this level. For me he really makes the difference.”

Former Newcastle player Alan Shearer is also very impressed. “If you think about it, City are two games away from immortality. They can get the treble, what a chance for them. There seems to be a certain arrogance about City, in the good sense of the word. Especially the arrogance that Erling Haaland has brought with him gives faith and confidence. Even if he doesn’t score, he is important with his runs.”

City will play the Champions League final against Inter on June 10. A week earlier it has to go to Wembley for the cup final against city rivals United. Wonder if ‘The Cityzens’ can win the coveted ‘treble’ and thus make their way to immortality. In England, so far only city rival Man. United (in 1999) did that.
