Club Brugge won its first match in the play-offs on Sunday. It knocked leader Royal Antwerp FC 2-0 in the Jan Breydelstadion.
Marc Degryse is satisfied that Club Brugge played the game fairly and went all out in the duel with Royal Antwerp FC. “As a club that has become champion in the last three years, you cannot keep losing,” he tells Het Laatste Nieuws.
Club Brugge had already earned more at De Bosuil, but could now prevent The Great Old from scoring. “They made it difficult for Antwerp last week, which was able to come back, partly due to the support of the home crowd. That was not the case now.”
The substitutes Vermant and Nielsen did particularly well. The latter scored twice for blue black, so that the match tilted in favor of blue black. Although there was one person who was completely out of place.
“Yaremchuk got another chance from De Mil, but he once again underlined his terrible year with a dramatic match. It’s a player who doesn’t dare anything anymore, all his ball touches were wrong. This is the low point for him,” concludes Degryse.
