Light at the end of the tunnel? At Union SG they seem to be getting certainty about the new stadium.
A new stadium for Union SG on the Bempt site in Vorst. For Philippe Bormans it all comes one step closer. “We have been told that we will have an oral agreement or an agreement in principle before the summer,” he says in La Capitale.
The CEO of Union SG was told this by the Brussels region. Bormans realizes that if that is not possible before this summer, it could well be postponed by next year’s elections.
According to the CEO, once the approval would have been obtained, it could go very quickly to play in a new stadium. “In an ideal world, the stadium will be open within 24 months. It takes six months to get the permit and a year to build a stadium. The reality may be different, but for me it is achievable.”
