Bakayoko not surprised by interest PSG but is determined: ‘I will stay with PSV this summer’

The Parisian club Paris Saint-Germain has already shown interest in various PSV players this season.

Of course, the Paris formation of millions closely follows the performance of Xavi Simons, but Johan Bakayoko is also on PSG’s radar. In fact, the French top club turned out to be serious in the market last winter by knocking at PSV with an offer. Both PSV and Bakayoko did not bite. That will not happen this summer either, Bakayoko assured last week. The interest certainly caresses him but does little else. .

In conversation with ELF Football, the attacker talks about the interest from Paris, where even a plan was ready to stimulate his development. “No, actually I didn’t find it very surprising that PSG wanted me. I may not have been very well known to the general public prior to the World Cup, but I know what I can do and also where my qualities lie. Other clubs also recognize it”, it sounds determined.

For Bakayoko there is no doubt where his future lies. “It is great if such a top club is interested, but I will stay with PSV for the time being and I want to continue to develop myself here. I don’t know what my situation at PSV would have been like if Cody Gakpo and Noni Madueke were still here. But it just happened that they left and I am more often in the base.”
