Amersfoort Zoo 75 years a big party –

Last Friday we were welcome at Dierenpark Amersfoort to celebrate their 75th anniversary. A party at the zoo that young and old could enjoy. They have some fun promotions especially for their birthday this period!

Dierenpark Amersfoort was founded in 1948 and has a long history of welcoming visitors and caring for animals ever since. What I loved was that you can get really close to penguins, walk among the ring-tailed lemurs and come face to face with a sloth.

Dino Forest in Amersfoort Zoo

Another striking attraction of Dierenpark Amersfoort is the DinoBos, where life-sized dinosaurs come to life. Walk through this prehistoric landscape and marvel at the giant T-rex and the long-necked Brachiosaurus. It is an exciting experience for young and old to travel back in time and explore the world of these ancient giants.

For the adventurous visitors, the park also offers an exciting climbing route called “Klim Alles.” Here, daredevils can safely climb and scramble between the trees and enjoy a beautiful view of the park and the animals. It’s a great way to get active and enjoy the natural environment at the same time.

Expedition River in Amersfoort Zoo

Something the girls really wanted to do is the River expedition. In other words, pedal boats. Recommended! Although the steering is strange and our rudder was clearly out of shape, we were 2 meters away from giraffes and zebras. WOW those animals are beautiful to see. The queue is a bit long, because a bird pair has decided to breed in one of the pedal boats. But it’s well worth the wait.
For the pedal boat you pay 5 euros per boat. Personally, I think it’s a pity that they charge money for extra things like the pedal boat and the slow train. You have already paid a lot of entrance fees.

Amersfoort Zoo is also committed to the conservation and protection of endangered species. The park participates in various breeding programs and cooperates with international organizations to contribute to the conservation of biodiversity. By visiting the park, you directly support these important efforts to preserve the animals and their natural habitat.
