ADO Den Haag has thanked Dick Advocaat for his achievements with a shirt and a room in the stadium named after him. The trainer said goodbye as coach on Friday with the victory over Jong AZ.
Dick Advocaat received a unique shirt from the staff, composed of shirts from clubs where he worked as a trainer. Earlier, the ‘Dick Advocaat trainer’s room’ was unveiled as a tribute to the departing coach.
“After he took over as head coach in December last year, he had a fantastic start and a series of eleven unbeaten games,” ADO writes in a press release. ‘It brought ADO Den Haag back to life and close to a place in the desired play-offs. Unfortunately, that goal was not achieved. We do want to express our gratitude to Dick Advocaat, a boy from the city and former player of the club, who returned to his first love as head coach after many wanderings.’
After his last home game, the club thanked him for his contribution, the trainers room now bears his name. Thank you Dick, for what you have done for football!’, said ADO.
